Yeah so 'Day the Earth Stood Still' was a real bust. Not even rental worthy.

Here's my O&G horde! OK just a chariot but I have to start somewhere, right? I should be painting my High Elves in preparation for the RTT on the 17th, but the Orcs are just too much fun to paint! My goal is to have the 1500pt list painted for the next UGG RTT, probably in March.

Still working on Eldar and will post pics soon...

Its looking great! I love the shade of Orc skin along with the red cloth they have on. Gives great contrast without looking like Christmas.

I am not a big fan of the white boar. I usually use white primer, so he looks unfinished to me. I would want to see him in person still. Part of the problem is that some highlights don't show up well in pictures.

I am really looking forward to seeing your army on the field at the March UGG tourney!! If the quality of this piece is any indication, your army will look fantastic!

Thanks for the comments!

A Christmas look was in the back of my mind too - something I wanted to avoid. Think I got away with it.

As for the white boar, yeah some of the detail is lost in the photo. Slightly overexposed maybe. In person the detail comes through. I wanted something to contrast the darker boar - to add to the hodge podge kind of appearance.

As for painting and the next UGG RTT, I don't know if two months is enough time to paint all these O&G...I underestimated how many there were. We shall see.

If you keep mixing the colors on all your boars over your entire army, it will really tie it together. (I kinda figured the highlighting was lost in the picture.)

I can definitely say underestimating work is easy to do!! Will you have much more work to do on your High Elves to be ready for A-Con, or are they ready as is? Just wondering how much time you will have for your Orcs...

The Elves are pretty much ready. I'd like to upgrade some of the older models like Eagles and mages. We'll see if that's in the budget though...

Just win this weekend and that should help update some models! :)
